596th Signal Company

On order, 596th Signal Company deploys to install, operate, and maintain an area MSE network to provide reliable communications for the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, and redeploys.

The 596th Signal Company was constituted on 13 June 1945 as the 596th Joint Assault Company, United States Army. The company was activated on 20 June 1945 at Fort Jackson, SC. The 596th was inactivated on 15 September 1945 at Camp Callan, CA.

On 20 July 1951 the company was redesignated as the 596th Signal Support Company and was allotted to the regular army. The 596th Signal Support Company was activated on 6 August 1951 at Camp Gordon, GA.

On 15 June 1994 the company was reorganized and designated the 596th Signal Company. On 1 April 1972 the company was inactivated in Vietnam.

The 596th Signal Company was reactivated on 15 December 1995 at Fort Riley, KS.
