478th Engineer Battalion (Combat)(Corps)(Mechanized)
A rescue force of 1,150 Kentucky National Guard men and women responded to over 5,000 calls per day when temperatures plummeted to minus-24 degrees and up to 25 inches of snow fell on the Bluegrass State the week of 17-23 January 1994. Soldiers from the 125th ARCOM's 478th Engineer Battalion in Fort Thomas worked with the local Veteran's Affairs Hospital to ensure its ability to remain operational during the storm.
