469th Finance Group
Golden Eagle
In July 2001 the 469th Finance Group was conducting Operation Golden Eagle, a training exercise to provide training for soldiers and leaders preparing to attend the FY02 Bright Star Exercise. Soldiers received disbursing training with the Defense Disbursing System (DDS), which will be used in their Bright Star mission. Commanders attending the exercise identified issues that are being addressed by the Finance School: the need to reclassify soldiers into the 73C MOS more expediently; the need for more training materials to conduct realistic finance training during IDT periods; the need for more information on Annual Training opportunities for their soldiers to participate in wartime training; and the importance of teaming up with AC Finance Battalions.
