432nd Civil Affairs Battalion
The 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion, located near Green Bay, Wisconsin, has numerous officer openings for highly motivated soldiers seeking challenging and rewarding duty. The 432nd will train and branch transfer officers to 38A. There are ample opportunities for promotion.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 15 Oct 1993, consisting of a shield blazoned: Purpure, a sun in splendor Or superimposed by a torteau, overall issuing from base a partially sheathed demi-sword Sable. Attached above the shield a purple scroll inscribed "BRINGING" and attached below the shield a purple scroll inscribed "ORDER TO CHAOS," all in gold letters. Purple is a color traditionally associated with Civil Affairs units. The sun and red disc reflect the unit's service and baptism of fire in Southwest Asia. The partially sheathed sword is symbolic of the transition from military to civilian government and the Battalion's mission.
