Engineer Brigade - 38th Infantry Division

Conflicting sources claim the 113th Engineer Battalion, Indiana Army National Guard, to be a subordinate unit of the Engineer Brigade, 38th Infantry Division.
The 46th Engineer Group consisted of a Group Headquarters and two battalions; the 107th Engineer Battalion and the 507th Engineer Battalion. 46 EN GP Headquarters, located in Flint, provided Command and Control; and coordinate training plans for the entire group. The 46th was busy throughout the state helping build bridges, recreation trails and parks, island restoration, and removing snow from the UP. On Lime Island, this included restoring a 1000 acre natural paradise in the St Mary's River. On Harsen's Island, a temporary bridge allowed residents to go home. Forest, Parks, and Recreation roads, bridges, and facilities enhanced public recreation. Multipurpose trails emphasized access for the physically challenged. The Guard helped out after twister ripped through the scenic German Community of Frankenmuth.
The 46th Engineer Group was WARTRACEd to ARCENT's 416th Engineering Command [ENCOM].
As of mid-February 2002, the 46th Engineer Group of the Michigan Army National Guard, had been reorganized and redesignated as the Engineer Brigade, 38th Infantry Division. Prior to the reorganization, the 46th Engineer Group consisted of a Group Headquarters and two battalions; the 107th Engineer Battalion and the 507th Engineer Battalion.
The Engineer Brigade is part of the 38th Infantry Division, headquartered in Indiana. The headquarters staff ensures subordinate units: Have the personnel and equipment to perform assigned missions; Conduct training and maintenance to ensure the unit is ready at all times the nation or state need to call on it; Oversee the performance of missions by units assigned to it in the event the Brigade is called to active duty.
Units of the Engineer Brigade, 38th Infantry Division, have deployed to Latvia to assist that nation in developing their National Guard. Personnel from the unit have also taken part in Task Force Grizzly, conducting counterdrug construction operations in West San Diego county in July-August 2000.
