368th Finance Battalion
The 368th Finance Battalion mission is to dploy upon mobilization to provide finance support on GS or DS basis to commanders, units, activities and soldiers as directed by the Finance Group or Theater Finance Commander. The Mission Essential Task List is: Perform Continuous Finance Support; Provide Command and Control for Assigned and Attached Finance Elements; Conduct Unit Movement to New Area of Operations; Mobilize and Deploy; and Conduct Force Protection/Anti-terrorism Operations.
The 368th Finance Battalion was constituted 22 February 1944 in the Army of the United States as the 102d Finance Disbursing Section. Activated 1 March 1944 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. Inactivated 9 October 1945 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. Redesignated 6 May 1947 as the 368th Finance Disbursing Section and allotted into the Organized Reserves. Activated 19 May 1947 at Wichita, Kansas. Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserves. Redesignated 4 February 1965 as the 368th Finance Section. Reorganized and redesignated 16 September 1988 as the 368th Finance Support Unit.
Ordered into active military service 21 November 1990 at Wichita, Kansas; released from active military service 30 June 1991 and reverted to reserve status. Reorganized and redesignated 16 September 1993 as the 368th Finance Battalion. Ordered into active military service 30 June 1996 at Wichita, Kansas; released from active military service 30 March 1997 and reverted to reserve status. Earned the Army's Superior Unit Award on 15 February 1999 for the period of service from 1 October 1995 to 30 September 1996.
