Headquarters Troop - 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment

The 200-soldier Bradley Stinger Fighting Vehicle/Manportable Air Defense System (BSFV/MANPADS) battery was formed in 1996. Most of the soldiers in the headquarters element are former tankers, with the only air defenders in the battery coming from a Stinger platoon in Jackson. The battery covers most of the state of Tennessee with detachments in Clarksville (Headquarters), Jackson (Detachment 1), and Nashville (Detachment 2). The RC ADA modified table of equipment (MTOE) is similar to an AC short-range air defense battery's MTOE, except that the RC ADA battery has no Avengers.
