22nd Personnel Services Battalion
The 22nd Personnel Services Copmany (Human Resources) (-) was first constituted on 16 October 1942 as the 22nd Replacement Battalion and activated on 20 October 1942 at Camp Sutton, North Carolina. On 17 November 1943, the unit was reorganized and designated as Headquarters Detachment, 22nd Replacement Battalion. Its subordinate companies became the 290th, 291st, and 292d Replacement Companies, which thereafter had separate lineages. After the end of the Second World War, the unit was inactivated in Italy on 5 December 1945.
The Battalion was alloted on 23 March 1966 to the Regular Army and activated on 1 June 1966 at Fort Lewis, Washington. It was then inactivated on 29 April 1972 at Oakland Army Base, California. It was redesignated on 19 May 1980 and activated in Germany and Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 22nd Personnel and Administrative Battalion. It was inactivated on 15 September 1990.
It was reactivated on 16 September 1994 as the 22nd Personnel Services Battalion at Fort Lewis, Washington. Its subordinate units included A, B, and C Companies, and the Battalion's Headquarters and Headquarters Detachments. Also attached to the Battalion were the 525th Replacement Company and the 175th Adjutant General Company (Postal).
In February 2008, the 22nd Personnel Services Battalion was reorganized and redesignated as the 22nd Personnel Services Company, and became part of the Special Troops Battalion, 593rd Sustainment Brigade. As a result, the missions for the Company were limited to postal operations, casualty reporting, and personnel accountability.
