2-29th Infantry Regiment
"Pioneer Battalion"

2/29 Infantry Battalion Trains Soldiers and Infantry Leaders, Demonstrates Infantry capabilities, Provides Subject Matter Expertise, Develops Doctrine and Supports the U.S. Army Infantry School in order to provide the Army with Soldiers and Leaders prepared to fight and win.

The 2nd Battalion, located in Building 73 on Main Post, trains One Station Unit Training soldiers on small arms, antitank weapons, mortar gunnery, individual and squad tactics and a number of general subjects. It also conducts training in these and other subjects in support of several Infantry School courses. The 2nd Battalion is also the home of the U. S. Army Sniper School and provides new equipment training teams in support of the MK19 grenade machinegun and other small arms fielding plans.
