Support Battalion, 196th Infantry Brigade
The mission of the Support Battalion, 196th Infantry Brigade, based at Fort Shafter on the island of Oahu, Hawaii is to provide Combat Support and Combat Service Support advice and assistance to reserve component units assigned to the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) Area of Operations (AOR) in order to improve pre- and post-mobilization readiness in the areas of operations, logistics, personnel services and administrative support. The Battalion would also performs post training and provide Individual Readiness Training (IRT) for USARPAC.
The Support Battalion, 196th Infantry Brigade was activated between 1998 and 1999 as part of the activation of the 196th Infantry Brigade as a numbered training support brigade.
