186th Forward Support Battalion
The mission of the 186th FSB is to provide supply, maintenance and medical support to the 86th Armored Brigade, including units in Vermont and Mass. The 186th FSB is part of the 42nd (Rainbow) Infantry Division's Division Support Command (DISCOM).
The 186th Forward Support Battalion consists of: Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment (HHD) in Northfield, Company A (Supply) in Windsor, Company B (Maintenance), in Winooski, Lyndonville, and Dorchester, Mass. and Company C (Medical) in Winooski.
The 186 FSB was organized on 1 August 1985, and federally recognized on 10 June 1986. Since then, the battalion has been assigned to the 50th Armored Division, the 26th (Yankee) Infantry Division, and the 42nd (Rainbow) Infantry Division.
