176th Finance Battalion
"Pay the Way"
The 176th Finance Battalion provided finance support to the all areas in Korea with its 4 detachments. A Detachment was located at the Yongsan Garrison in Area II, B Detachment was at Camp Humphreys in Area III, C Detachment was at Camp Henry in Area IV, while D Detachment was at Camp Stanley in Area I.
The 176th Finance Company was first constituted on 22 September 1944 in the Army of the United States as the 176th Finance Disbursing Section and activated on 1 November 1944 in New Guinea. It was allotted on 8 February 1954 to the Regular Army before being inactivated on 13 May 1955 on Okinawa.
The unit was redesignated on 6 February 1967 as the 176th Finance Section and activated on 1 April 1967 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. It was inactivated on 1 September 1968 in Vietnam.
The unit was redesignated on 17 October 1986 as the 176th Finance Support Unit and activated in Korea. It was reorganized and redesignated on 16 November 1993 as the 176th Finance Battalion.
The 176th Finance Battalion was reorganized and redesignated on 16 October 2007 as the 176th Finance Company.
