15th Personnel Services Battalion

The 15th Personnel Services Battalion was inactivated in April 2008 as part of a transformation of US Army personnel services.

The 15th Personnel Service Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas, services the mighty "First Team", 1st Cavalry Division, also located on Fort Hood, Texas.

The 15th Personnel Services Battalion was first constituted on 1 July 1940 in the Army of the United States as Company A, 1st Replacement Battalion. It was activated 10 March 1942 at Camp Haan, California. It was reorganized and redesignated on 15 November 1943 as the 256th Replacement Company. It was inactivated 15 December 1946 in Korea.

It was redesignated on 15 October 1965 as the 256th Personnel Service Company and activated on 1 November 1965 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. It was inactivated on 25 June 1971 in Thailand.

The unit was redesignated on 1 October 1985 as the 15th Personnel Service Company and activated at Fort Hood, Texas. It was reorganized and redesignated on 16 October 1994 as the 15th Personnel Services Battalion.
