135th Engineer Company (Combat)

The 135th Engineer Company from the southern Illinois community of Lawrenceville deployed to Iceland to provide mobility and counter mobility support to the 66th Infantry Brigade during the 2001 Northern Viking exercise. There, the unit which was originally organized in 1946, was tasked with installing and removing obstacles, such as minefields, concertina wire and barbed wire.

The unit supported four annual rotations in 2001, including two in Germany and one at Fort McCoy, WI.
