134th Forward Support Battalion

The 134th Brigade Support Battalion provides the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division with a trained and ready combat force. Additionally, the 134th Brigade Support Battalion, a Minnesota Army National Guard battalion, is prepared to support the State of Minnesota with troops capable of assisting in a disaster. The Battalion is headquartered at Camp Ripley in Little Falls Minnesota.

The mission of the 134th Forward Support Battalion had been to provide a fully-trained and fully-staffed force capable of providing combat service support and health service support in federal, state, and community operations. The Battalion's Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, A Company, and B Company were located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. C Company was located in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

The mission of B Company, 134th Forward Support Battalion was to provide direct support maintenance, technical assistance services, and limited vehicular evacuation assistance to supported divisional elements. The unit provided repair personnel in many technical areas including automotive, armament, recovery, electronics, missiles and armor as well as specialized support teams. C Company provided medical support to the Battalion, the 1st Brigade, 34th Infantry Division, and the Army by supplying medical personnel and expertise of the highest caliber.

With the transformation of the 34th Infantry Division to the US Army's modular force structure, the 134th Forward Support Battalion was reorganized and redesignated as the 134th Brigade Support Battalion. D, E, F, and G Companies were activated as forward support companies to be attached ot the maneuver elements of the reorganized and redesignated 1st Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division. As of 11 January 2011, there were 8 major units in the 134th Brigade Support Battalion: the Battalion's Headquarters and Headquarters Company at Camp Ripley in Little Falls, Minnesota; A Company in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; B Company at Camp Ripley; C Company in Cottage Grove, Minnesota; D Company in Duluth, Minnesota; E Company in Long Prairie, Minnesota and Camp Ripley; F Company in St. Cloud, Minnesota and Camp Ripley; and G Company in St. Peter and St. James, Minnesota.
