128th Chemical Company

The 128th Chemical Company is composed of a Company Headquarters, a Maintenance Platoon, a Smoke Platoon, a Reconnaissance Platoon, a Decontamination Platoon, and an NBC Battle Management Section or NBC Center (NBC).

The 128th Chemical Company, on order, alerts, assembles, mobilizes and completes post-mobilization training; deploys to a Theater of Operations in support of the 28th Infantry Division (Mechanized), and task organizes to provide Nuclear, Biological and Chemical support to the Division and Brigade Combat Teams.

Elements of the 128th Chemical Company include Smoke, Reconnaissance, Decontamination and NBC Battle Management. The elements work as an integral part of the 28th Infantry Division (M) NBC Defense Program to provide training, technical guidance, and specialized NBC force protection to the Division.

On order of the Governor of Pennsylvania, the 128th Chemical Company plans for, mobilizes, and deploys to provide for or to assist in the re-establishment of the protection of life, property and the preservation of peace, order, and public safety. On order, it assists other agencies in emergency mitigation and recovery operations.

The 128th Chemical Company (NBC Defense) of the 28th Infantry Division was organized on 1 February 1982 under Permanent Orders 82-1, dated 23 December 1981. It was organized under MTOE 03087HNG01, CCNUM NG0181, dated 24 Sep 81 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
