111th Signal Battalion (MSE)

The 111th Signal Battalion is a premier corps area Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE) communications unit that provides both wire and wireless voice, email, and data networking services to the Army and Joint Services in tactical and non-tactical environments utilizing digital cellular and packet switching technology.

The unit offers part-time high-tech careers for new recruits and prior-service personnel in various Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) including: 74B-Information Systems Operator-Analyst, 31F-Network Switching Systems Operator-Maintainer, 31R-Multi-channel Transmission Systems Operator-Maintainer, 31U-Signal Support Systems Specialist, 31W-Telecommunications Operations Chief, 31L-Cable Systems Installer-Maintainer, Vehicle/Generator Mechanics and many others.

The unit's distinctive unit insignia was approved on 29 January 1982 and shows a silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall, consisting of the shield of the coat of arms in Proper colors. Attached below the shield a silver scroll inscribed "SIGNALING PRIDE" in orange letters.

The unit's coat of arms shows Tenné, three staffs raguly palewise couped and erased Argent; on a chief of the like two lightning flashes saltirewise of the first.
