1st Battalion, 48th Infantry conducts gender integrated basic combat training to produce confident, competent, physically fit, disciplined soldiers, immersed in the seven Army Values, and ready to take their place in the Army upon graduation.
The 48th Infantry was originally constituted in May of 1917, in preparation for action during World War I. Although the Regiment did not see action during WWI, the three battalions of the 48th Infantry were called upon during World War II and the march towards Germany. The Regiment participated in four campaigns, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe. Today, the 1st Battalion proudly serves as part of the 3d Training Brigade, conducting Basic Combat Training.
