1st Battalion - 179th Infantry Regiment

Company C of the 1st Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment, deployed in September 2000 to Bosnia for a six-months rotation as part NATO Stabilization Force 8.

The 1st Battalion, 179th Infantry Company A/B, based in Alva, with 234 personnel was sent to the Mideast in 2003. Company A was sent to Kuwait, while Company B went to Iraq.
