1st Battalion, 112th Aviation Regiment

The mission of the 1-112th Aviation is to provide light utility aircraft for staff transportation and air movement of personnel and equipment in support of corps and division operations. The 1-112th Aviation Battalion (LUH - Light Utility Helicopter) is divided between the North Dakota and Montana Army National Guard.

The diverse mission of companies B and C in Montana are both designed to include troop transport, external load transport (sling loads), and casualty evacuation (CASEVAC). The helicopter companies are teams of soldiers who directly support the aircraft either through maintenance efforts, supply and logistical support, or by providing food and fuels etc.

The 1st Battalion, 112th Aviation Regiment, was activated on 1 Septmeber 1995 as a parent regiment under the US Army Regimental System. It is a split state battalion with HHC and Company A located in North Dakota and B and C Companies located in Montana and D Company located in California.
