Salon.com, on Feb. 16, 2006, announced that it had in its possession additional images depicting instances of abues and torture of detainees at Abu Ghurayb which the US Department of Defense had withheld from public release. A small sample is available at the Salon.com Website..
On March 14, 2006, Salon.com made available on its website 279 photographs and 19 videos from the Army's internal investigation into abuses perpetrated at the Abu Ghraib Prison.
