EADS and SAGEM sign an agreement on EUROMALE UAVs
Paris, 14 June 2004
On the occasion of the Paris Eurosatory International Exhibition, EADS and SAGEM announce the signature of a co-operation agreement for the development of EUROMALE UAVs.
The agreement outlines both companies’ opportunities for working together to develop prospective UAVs. This will be carried out within the framework of the recently announced EUROMALE program, which has been placed under EADS prime leadership.
Under this agreement SAGEM will be responsible for the technical domains of line of sight datalink, optronic payloads and interoperability functions between the EUROMALE UAV systems and the French SDTI system and the Sperwer system used by the land forces of five other countries. Concerning the datalink and the interoperability functions, SAGEM and EADS will cooperate in order to maximize the use of their existing investments and equipments of both companies. Beyond EUROMALE, SAGEM and EADS intend to promote their datalink on the whole UAV market.
The agreement draws upon both EADS’ recognized experience and expertise in the development of aerial vehicles and SAGEM’s world-class optronic payloads and transmission systems. Together, EADS and SAGEM will be able to expand the scope of missions carried out by the existing EUROMALE UAV systems.
