Baghalchur / Baghalchar

The uranium mining operation at Baghalchur [Baghalchar] was closed as of 30 November, 1999. The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) stated that the operation closed because the reserves had been worked out, rather than in response to foreign pressure as some politicians apparently charged.
