In 2010 it was reported that India was secretly developing a 4m length, 2 tonne Air launched Hypersonic Cruise Missile which will be carried under the belly of the Sukhoi-30 MKI. The 2 tonne ALCM seemed to be too heavy since most of the ALCM's which are available around the world weigh less then half and have a range of 350 to 500km. Recently the DRDO had also announced the development of new Hypersonic air launched cruise missile named LRCM with range of 600km.
