Doctrine 2015 Information Briefing [PDF]

As part of the Army's Doctrine 2015 initiative, a new lower level of doctrine publication was created, called Army Techniques Publications (ATPs). While Field Manuals (FMs) would continue to serve as the most comprehensive reference manuals in the new series of doctrine documents, the total number of FMs would be reduced. All remaining knowledge would be transitioned to ATPs. ATPs were expected to change the fastest as the Army could update these more rapidly without having to change the whole body of information on a specific subject.
