Lawmaker: US nuclear test undermines world peace
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Arak, Markazi province, Dec 8, IRNA -- Deputy Head of Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Mohammad Hassan Asafari on Saturday said the US nuclear test in Nevada desert would endanger world peace.
He told IRNA that the world public opinion condemns the test because it is against all international laws and humanitarian principles.
Asafari said the test by the US proves that the arrogant powers are after proliferating weapons of mass destruction.
He said the US is well aware of Iran's interest in freeing the Middle East from nuclear weapons, repudiating Washington for delaying the International Conference on nuclear weapons and making the Middle East free from nuclear arms which was due to be held in Helsinki, Finland, in December.
'But Iran as a victim of weapons of mass destruction, is diligently after establishing peace throughout the world and making a nuclear weapons-free Middle East,' the lawmaker added.
