DESC: The objective of this effort is to preserve the Defense
Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) nuclear core competencies by
addressing STRATCOM and other DSWA customer support requirements
in the areas of target lethality and assessments of urban nuclear
terrorism scenarios. Significant technical shortfalls in the
areas of blast, shock, and thermal effects are to be addressed
by accounting for weapon specific outputs and target specific
applications. The effort will support the development and dissemination
of PC based desktop tools incorporating the results of these
research efforts and will provide a vastly improved understanding
of fallout generation and dynamics in urban environments and
from structure contained/concealed detonations. Contractor
personnel will require a DoD security level of SECRET. Contemplated
period of performance is 36 months, not including the final
reporting cycle.
Information on DSWA solicitations, already
released, can be obtained by calling the DSWA Hotline at (703)
325-1173.
As of 31 May 96, Acquisition Management has added
"Procurement Opportunities" to the DSWA Home Page available
on the World Wide Web. Information will include this synopsis
and more. Please check us out at www.dswa.mil.
