Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka spoke at the IV France-Ukraine Forum in Paris. The discussion also featured the Minister Delegate for Europe at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Benjamin Haddad, while the moderator was the Director of the French Institute of International Relations, Thomas Gomart.

The forum served as a platform for dialogue among government officials, parliamentarians, and leading independent experts on the key challenges facing Ukraine, France, and Europe. This year's topics included Ukraine's EU accession process, cooperation with NATO, security, resilience, and recovery.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that relations between Ukraine and France are built on shared values and a vision for Europe's future.

"Ukrainian society has made a final choice in favour of European values and way of life. It is these values, in particular commitment to democracy and the rule of law, that give us the strength to resist russian aggression and at the same time make Ukraine a reliable partner and an important part of the European continent," Taras Kachka stressed.

He highlighted France's role in ensuring support for Ukraine - from sanction decisions to providing financial assistance, as well as in consolidating unity among EU member states. "The European Union is Ukraine's main financial and political partner, but behind this stands a consolidated position of all member states. We highly value the leadership of individual countries, particularly France, which helps shape common support for Ukraine within the EU by promoting sanction decisions, financial and technical assistance. It is this unity that allows us to maintain the pace of reforms, strengthen the economy, and bring closer our membership in the EU," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

He called for intensifying pressure on russia, in particular through expanding sanction packages and limiting the aggressor's opportunities to finance the war.

The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasised the significant role of French business in Ukraine. According to him, despite the war, French companies are one of the largest foreign employers in Ukraine, providing jobs to over 30,000 Ukrainians. This, as Taras Kachka said, demonstrates trust in Ukraine and creates a basis for new projects in the areas of reconstruction and development.

"We seek to develop such cooperation, expand the presence of European investors, and integrate the Ukrainian economy into the EU Single Market. This strengthens Ukraine's economic resilience and builds our common European future."

The forum was organised by the New Europe Center in partnership with the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI), with support from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the International Renaissance Foundation.
