The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another two enemy agents in Kyiv region. On orders of russia's federal security service, they smuggled Ukrainian SIM cards to the aggressor state for enemy drones attacking our country.

These microchips improved the communication and navigation of the russian UAVs.

As the investigation established, russia's tasks were carried out by two residents of Kyiv oblast, one of whom turned out to be a former law enforcement officer.

After receiving instructions from the russian special service, the perpetrators first bought Ukrainian SIM cards and, to conceal the supply route, sent them to their accomplices in the European Union.

From there, the cards were sent to russia, specifically to the cities of Naberezhnye Chelny and Yelabuga in Tatarstan, where factories producing combat UAVs are located.

Another task of the agents was to recruit employees of Ukrainian mobile communication companies in order to obtain intelligence data from within domestic operators.

The Security Service uncovered the enemy's intelligence activities, documented the traitors, and detained them.

Smartphones with evidence of contacts with the FSB handler and foreign accomplices were seized from the suspects during searches. SIM cards prepared for trafficking to russia were also found in their possession.

SSU investigators notified the detainees of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The perpetrators are in custody and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The investigation to bring members of the russian network in the EU to justice is ongoing.

The operational and investigative activities were carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
