Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met in Kyiv with a bipartisan U.S. Congress delegation led by Representatives Michael Turner and Eugene Vindman.

The talks primarily focused on support for Ukraine. Denys Shmyhal thanked the United States for its consistent assistance toward achieving a lasting and just peace. He highlighted the significant contributions of the U.S. government that save Ukrainian lives, notably the transfer of Patriot systems.

The delegations discussed ways in which the United States could contribute to enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities, including through the PURL mechanism.

"I specifically emphasized the importance of maintaining sanctions pressure on russia and using frozen russian assets to finance support for Ukraine," stated the Defence Minister.

The parties also addressed preparations for an agreement on the production and sale of drones (the 'Drone Deal'), to be signed by the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States.

"I am grateful to the United States for its solidarity and unwavering support," Denys Shmyhal concluded.
