Question: According to numerous recent media reports, Russian ambassadors were summoned to the foreign ministries of several European countries over an incident allegedly involving drones violating Polish airspace. How would you comment on this?
Maria Zakharova: With regard to the recent demarches by a number of European capitals over the alleged violation of Polish airspace by Russian UAVs on September 10, I would like to say the following.
The pattern is always the same. The facts are still unclear, no proper investigation has been conducted, no credible evidence has been gathered - but the culprit has already been named. And, as always, it is the Russian Federation.
This time, too, the accusations against Russia of provocation attempts and deliberate escalation are completely unfounded. No concrete evidence has been presented to back up claims of malicious intent. The haste with which responsibility was pinned on Russia, and the categorical refusal by the Polish authorities to engage in consultations proposed by the Russian Defence Ministry, speak volumes about the collective West's complete lack of interest in establishing the truth about the incident.
Naturally, explanations and facts provided by the Russian Defence Ministry have been ignored. What we see is yet another element of a large-scale information campaign aimed at demonising Russia, drumming up further support for the Kiev regime, and sabotaging efforts towards a political settlement of the conflict around Ukraine.
Meanwhile, members of the so-called Drone Coalition supplying UAVs to Ukraine - some 20 countries - would do well to face the undeniable facts of daily crimes committed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine whose drones, which deliberately target civilian facilities and the peaceful population in Russian regions with drone strikes. Against this backdrop, the moralising and démarches by these states over alleged Russian violations of international law are hypocritical and inappropriate.
Just in the summer of 2025 and the beginning of September, 132 people in Russia, including children, became victims of Ukrainian drone attacks carried out with systems supplied by members of the Drone Coalition. Of these, 16 were killed and 116 wounded. The militants of the neo-Nazi Kiev regime are effectively hunting defenceless civilians around the clock with drones, deliberately targeting children, women, and the elderly. Strikes are knowingly directed against residential buildings, medical and social facilities, schools and shops. In the Kherson Region alone, 27 out of 55 ambulances were hit and destroyed by UAVs.
By supplying drones to the Kiev regime, the authorities of these countries are becoming accomplices to the crimes committed by today's Banderites and bear full responsibility for them.
We will continue to keep the public regularly informed about the strikes carried out by the Kiev regime, including with the use of UAVs, against Russian territory and its civilian population.
