The SSU Counterintelligence prevented another terrorist attack in Lviv. As a result of pre-emptive action, two minors were detained. On russia's behalf, they attempted to blow up a townhouse where a Defence Forces serviceman lived.

To commit the crime, the perpetrators left an improvised explosive device near the entrance to the house, which they hid in a flower pot.

To enable russian special services to remotely activate the explosive device when the serviceman approached the house, the agents installed a remote-access telephone camera near the location.

The Security Service uncovered the enemy's plan at an early stage and caught the terrorists red-handed as they were planting the bomb at the entrance.

According to the investigation, the perpetrators are two residents of Lviv, aged 14 and 15, whom russia had recruited on Telegram channels with promises of easy money.

After receiving instructions from the occupiers, the young men obtained the coordinates, retrieved the IED from the cache, and then planted it at the site of the planned terrorist attack.

The explosive device and smartphones with evidence of contacts with the russian handler were seized during searches.

SSU investigators notified the detainees of suspicion under Articles 15.2 and 258.2 of the CCU (completed attempt to commit a terrorist act, by a group, upon prior conspiracy).

The suspects face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operational and investigative steps were carried out by the Counterintelligence and investigators of the SSU Lviv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.

In early September this year, the Security Service detained two more underage enemy agents in Lviv who intended to blow up a Ukrainian serviceman's car.
