WIESBADEN, Germany -- The Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO, Alyona Getmanchuk, visited NSATU (NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine) in Wiesbaden, Germany, on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025.
During her visit, she learned about the operations of NSATU and SAG-U (Security Assistance Group - Ukraine), as well as the key needs and plans for the near future.
"The functioning of NSATU clearly demonstrates that it is not sufficient to provide assistance or training; it is essential to coordinate these efforts in the most effective manner possible," stated Getmanchuk.
She held a series of bilateral meetings with the leadership of NSATU and SAG-U, including Commander of NSATU/SAG-U, Lieutenant General K. Buzzard, Deputy Commander of NSATU Major General M. Keller and representatives of the Ukrainian Military Representation to NSATU/SAG-U.
Additionally, a meeting was conducted with representatives of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC), particularly its Commander, Brigadier General Wojciech Ozga, who was on a working visit to NSATU.
Getmanchuk emphasized the critical importance of NSATU in ensuring long-term and sustainable support for Ukraine by coordinating NATO's efforts to supply weapons, support the long-term development of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and oversee their training in NATO member countries.
Furthermore, the Head of Mission discussed with NSATU representatives how its role aligns with the strengthening of NATO's function in coordinating arms supplies and the PURL initiative, as well as in the broader context of discussions regarding security guarantees for Ukraine.
