
Ukraine and Sweden agree to jointly produce armaments in both countries

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Defense of Sweden Pål Jonson signed a Letter of Intent on joint production of armaments in both countries.
The document between the Ministries of Defense actualizes the efforts of the two countries and creates conditions for the implementation of joint projects in the defense industry.
The Letter also contains the intention to continue the exchange of technologies and experience in the production of weapons and military equipment to ensure sustainability and reciprocity of the defense industry of both Ukraine and Sweden.
During a meeting in Kyiv with his Swedish counterpart on August 23, Denys Shmyhal thanked the people and leadership of his country for "unwavering support for Ukraine in all areas in repelling russian aggression." In particular, for joining the PURL initiative and allocating USD 486 million together with Norway and Denmark.
During the talks, the Ukrainian side informed the Swedish delegation about the current situation on the battlefield and the key needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The delegations discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of military aviation, including pilot training and joint projects between Swedish and Ukrainian companies.
"I thanked the Swedish Government, in particular, for the transfer of ASC 890 radar reconnaissance and control aircraft," said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Among the immediate prospects for cooperation are work on military innovations to accelerate their implementation in practice, development of joint production facilities. The delegations also discussed intensifying cooperation in space technology.
