"We highly appreciate all the assistance that Latvia has provided us since the beginning of the full-scale war. In particular, the recent decision of the Latvian Government to allocate EUR 2 million for the arms procurement under the PURL is critical for us," noted the Minister of Defense of Ukraine during the talks on August 23.
The parties discussed plans for defense cooperation in the short and long term. The Ukrainian delegation informed its counterparts about the current situation at the front and the urgent needs of the Defense Forces to further deter the enemy.
Among the priorities of cooperation is the intensification of joint production both in Ukraine and Latvia. They also discussed the continued participation of Latvian partners in the training program for the Ukrainian military.
