The development of strategic cooperation in the energy sector was the central topic of discussion between the Ukrainian delegation and Polish officials.
During their working visit to Poland, representatives of the Ukrainian energy sector, including Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak and CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi, met with Wojciech Balczun, Minister of State Assets of Poland, to address deepening bilateral cooperation.
Amid unprecedented challenges faced by Ukraine's energy system as a result of russian aggression, cooperation with international partners, including Poland, is of particular importance. Poland is one of Ukraine's key allies in strengthening energy security and further integration into the European energy market.
Despite the difficult conditions, Ukraine's energy system remains balanced, but the risks of an energy crisis in wartime require additional security and coordination measures. Therefore, the Ukrainian delegation thanked their Polish colleagues for their continued solidarity and assistance, including the supply of necessary equipment, assistance in logistics and storage of strategic energy resources.
The joint efforts of the governments and companies of both countries in developing energy and gas transportation systems deserve special attention. These steps are extremely important in the context of the cessation of russian gas supplies and constant attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
"Our cooperation with Poland has already proved to be effective in enhancing the energy sustainability of both countries. We have every reason to strengthen this partnership further through coordination and implementation of mutually beneficial projects," said Roman Andarak.
"We have a successful experience of partnership with the Polish concern ORLEN, in particular in the issue of supplying American liquefied gas to Ukraine. We are open to in-depth cooperation and implementation of joint projects that strengthen the energy security of Ukraine and the entire Eastern European region," said Sergii Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
In gearing up for the 2025-2026 heating season, the Ukrainian side presented an action plan to prepare for the winter heating season. The delegations also discussed the possibility of coordinating with the Polish side in attracting additional and strategic resources.
The parties paid special attention to cooperation projects between Naftogaz of Ukraine and ORLEN S.A.
