Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal discussed defence production, military training, and the use of frozen russian assets with Thomas Röwekamp, Chair of the Defence Committee of the German Bundestag.

The head of the Ministry of Defence expressed gratitude for Germany's steadfast support in Ukraine's fight against russian aggression.

According to Denys Shmyhal, defence cooperation between the two countries continues to grow. The parties discussed collaboration with several German companies, joint production and repair of equipment in both Ukraine and Germany, and support for training Ukrainian military personnel.

"We coordinated our key battlefield needs. Last night was yet another reminder of the urgent need to strengthen air defence. We value Germany's contribution, including the supplied IRIS-T air defence systems and the commitment to provide additional Patriot systems. We hope this support will continue," said the Defence Minister.

He urged partners to intensify efforts to confiscate frozen russian assets, which could serve as a source of budgetary support for Ukraine.

"I am grateful for Germany's significant role in multilateral aid projects for Ukraine, including those initiated by NATO and the EU. Our German partners assured us of their intent to support Ukraine for as long as necessary," Denys Shmyhal concluded.
