The Security Service of Ukraine has detained an enemy agent in Kirovohrad region. He prepared coordinates for a russian air strike on the regional center on 28 July this year.

As a result of the enemy strikes, the regional philharmonic hall, a local university and residential buildings in the central part of the city were damaged.

According to the investigation, the aggressor's air raid was one of the largest since the start of the full-scale war. The enemy used Shahed kamikaze drones, which were directed at civilian infrastructure in Kropyvnytskyi guided by the intelligence provided by the traitor.

The perpetrator is a 47-year-old local unemployed man who came to russia's attention because of his pro-kremlin comments on Telegram channels.

After recruitment, he was tasked by his FSB handler with collecting specific geolocations for russian drone strikes on the city.

After the enemy attack on the city, the agent reported to the russian special service on its consequences in order to adjust repeat strikes and prepare new ones.

Simultaneously, the asset tracked the movements of Defense Forces cargo trains through the region.

SSU cyber units caught him as he was setting up a video trap near a railway facility.

A phone with evidence of his contacts with the FSB was seized at the scene.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law). The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kirovohrad region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.
