Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held discussions with Sweden's Defence Minister Pål Jonson and the Netherlands' Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans.

"We are engaging more partners in the new Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism. During a phone call with Sweden's Defence Minister Pål Jonson, I thanked his country for joining PURL. Sweden, together with Norway and Denmark, is allocating USD 486 million to the initiative," said Denys Shmyhal.

According to him, this mechanism, implemented by the United States, Ukraine, and NATO countries, enables Alliance members to fund the supply of American weapons and technologies to Ukraine through voluntary contributions.

"Yesterday, the Netherlands announced a EUR 500 million contribution to PURL. These funds will support the purchase of American weapons, including missiles for Patriot systems. I expressed gratitude to Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans during today's conversation," noted the Head of Ukraine's Ministry of Defence.

Additionally, the defence ministers of Ukraine and the Netherlands discussed prospects for developing defence-industrial cooperation. Both sides are interested in establishing joint productions to strengthen the defence capabilities of both nations and ensure the supply of weapons for Ukraine's Defence Forces.

"Support for the Ukrainian army, long-term large-scale projects, and stronger sanctions against the aggressor are the path to a just and lasting peace. We are grateful to our partners for their unwavering support during the war and their contributions to enhancing our defence capabilities. This assistance saves Ukrainian lives," emphasised Denys Shmyhal.
