On July 31, during his visit to Helsinki, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, took part in a panel discussion at the Helsinki+50 Conference alongside with the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Elina Valtonen, and Mongolia, Battsetseg Batmunkh.

At the beginning of his speech, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine informed his counterparts about yet another horrific Russian attack on Ukrainian cities — once again demonstrating Moscow's true aggressive intentions.

According to the Minister, Putin "celebrated" the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act by launching a violent missile strike on Ukraine. The head of the MFA emphasized the necessity of protecting common fundamental principles and of identifying tools that can ensure their observance and strengthen the OSCE's effectiveness.

The Minister reminded that the security of Ukraine and Europe is indivisible. Strong sanctions, isolation and bringing to responsibility must become powerful tools to force Russia to peace.

"The Helsinki Final Act was not final in fact. History has never ended. Today, the history of Europe is being written with blood of Ukrainians who are fighting for freedom," said Andrii Sybiha.

The Foreign Minister of Ukraine assured that Ukraine remains committed to reforms and the fight against corruption in the context of the Verkhovna Rada's adoption of legislative measures proposed by President Zelenskyy to ensure the independence and effectiveness of anti-corruption institutions.

Andrii Sybiha called for reforming the OSCE to make it a more efficient organization. The Minister emphasized the importance of having effective international mechanisms to prevent wars. He also noted that the Helsinki principles, the defense of freedom and democracy hold particular significance to the Ukrainian people and "are imprinted in their DNA".Andrii Sybiha at the Helsinki+50 Conference: security of Ukraine and of Europe is indivisible
