On Tuesday, July 29, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine with Tomáš Pojar, Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, who is on a working visit to Ukraine.
The parties discussed the further development of military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic, particularly within the framework of the Czech initiative on the supply of artillery ammunition. The Minister emphasized the significant contribution of the Czech Republic to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, highlighting the leadership of the Czech side in supplying shells, armored vehicles, and other military assistance.
Thanks to the joint efforts of European partners and the effective coordination of the Czech Republic, around 1.8 million artillery shells are expected to be delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by the end of this year under the Czech initiative.
"Ukraine highly values the defense support of the Czech Republic, which remains a reliable partner in restoring a just peace and strengthening the indivisible security of Europe," Andrii Sybiha stated.
The interlocutors also focused on the prospects of expanding cooperation in the field of military-technical partnership, in particular within the framework of the SAFE (Security Action for Europe) mechanism, as well as on the continuation of active political dialogue at the highest level.
The Minister underlined the importance of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the Czech Republic for the security and prosperity of both countries and of Europe as a whole.
The Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Czech partners for their consistent support and voiced hope for further enhanced cooperation aimed at restoring a comprehensive, just, and sustainable peace for Ukraine.
