Ukraine's Minister of Energy, Svitlana Grynchuk, held a meeting with a French delegation led by Pierre Heilbronn, Special Envoy of the President of France for Ukraine's Relief and Reconstruction.
The parties discussed ongoing Ukrainian-French projects aimed at developing electricity grids, nuclear and renewable energy, and the oil and gas sector, including joint gas exploration and production in Ukraine.
"A significant part of our cooperation is the Grant Agreement between the Government of the French Republic and the Government of Ukraine to support the restoration and maintenance of critical infrastructure and priority economic sectors in Ukraine. This agreement is worth EUR 200 million," noted Svitlana Grynchuk.
The Minister of Energy also expressed gratitude to France for its EUR 5.7 million contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
The meeting addressed the implementation of three joint infrastructure projects in the fuel and energy sector, with a combined value exceeding EUR 37.6 million.
Pierre Heilbronn emphasised that nuclear energy is a strategic area of cooperation with French public and private companies.
The partners also touched upon the involvement of private French companies in collaboration with Ukrainian businesses and details of joint efforts within the Energy Community Fund.
A separate discussion focused on the outcomes of the visit by Jean-Noël Barrot, France's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, to the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. Ensuring nuclear and radiation safety and addressing the consequences of a russian drone attack on the New Safe Confinement Arch remain key areas of Ukraine-France cooperation.
"The contribution of Pierre Heilbronn and his team to the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone agenda cannot be overstated. Ukraine continues active dialogue with all international partners to support the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone under the Chornobyl International Cooperation Account," stressed the Minister.
She also thanked French partners for their immense contribution to Ukraine's energy resilience and affirmed that many joint projects lie ahead.
