Based on the materials of the Security Service of Ukraine, an SSU officer who was exposed in 2024 by the SSU Main Department of Internal Security on extortion will be brought to trial.

According to the investigation, the SSU official extorted USD 300,000 from an organizer of the draft evasion scheme. For this, he promised the person involved his assistance in closing the relevant criminal proceedings.

The SSU Main Directorate of Internal Security and investigators of the National Police exposed the bribe-taker red-handed, during the money transfer.

The criminal proceedings were further passed to the investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation, and later, due to the large amount of bribe, to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the Bureau's detectives have now completed the investigation and brought the case to court.

The offender was served a notice of suspicion under Article 368.4 of the CCU (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official). He faces imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
