In times of war, the SSU's priority is to fight russian agents and prevent the influence of enemy special services on any government institution of Ukraine. At the same time, the SSU acts exclusively in line with the law and in the interests of the national security of our state.

This was stated by the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk at a meeting with representatives of the G7 member states, which was also attended by Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko and Head of the State Bureau of Investigation Oleksii Sukhachov.

'In the conditions of the full-scale war, the presence of russian agents in any state agency is completely unacceptable. There are no exceptions for us, and we will continue to eradicate hostile influence wherever we can. NABU needs to be cleansed of the influence of enemy intelligence services. We will continue to do this together with the Bureau's leadership, supporting them in this,' said Vasyl Maliuk.

The Head of the Security Service thanked the G7 member states for their cooperation during the full-scale invasion and support of Ukraine in such a difficult and historic time.

Vasyl Maliuk added that the SSU and the Prosecutor General's Office have collected a solid evidence base on all suspected NABU employees. Yesterday, the Security Service detained a russian 'mole' in one of the Bureau's elite units, as well as the head of the NABU's interregional detective departments, suspected of aiding the aggressor state. In addition, MP Fedir Khrystenko, a fugitive from the OPZZh, was served a notice of suspicion in absentia. He is suspected of high treason. According to the investigation, he directly influenced the activities of the anti-corruption agency.

'The proper procedural supervision was provided, and the legitimacy of all the evidence collected was checked. All investigative actions were carried out in full compliance with the requirements of the current legislation. The court also confirmed the legitimacy of the evidence and the validity of the suspicions. For the Prosecutor General's Office, as well as for our colleagues from the SSU and the SBI, compliance with the law is paramount. And we act exclusively within the limits and in the way prescribed by law,' said Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

The G7 representatives received exhaustive answers to their questions about the work of Ukraine's law enforcement agencies and, in particular, the recent special operation by the SSU and the PGO to neutralise russian influence on the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

'The SBI, the SSU and the PGO continue to work together to combat crimes in the highest echelons of power. And we will do our job efficiently, regardless of the structures and positions of our suspects,' said Oleksii Sukhachov, Director of the State Bureau of Investigation.

Vasyl Maliuk also discussed with the representatives of the G7 states the recent results of the Service's combat work. The SSU Head provided details of the unique special operation Spider Web, which resulted in hitting 41 russian strategic aircraft, as well as the third attack on the Crimean bridge.

The SSU Head noted that the SSU Centre of Special Operations 'A' is in the top 3 of the best Defence Forces units in striking enemy equipment using UAVs. The SSU's combat units are constantly destroying the enemy at the front and in its deep rear.
