During the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC), five agreements were signed to foster cooperation in the defence industry.

An agreement on cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine and the Italian Ministry of Defence. This joint commitment aims to promote collaboration between Ukrainian and Italian defence companies, addressing needs for components and raw materials.

The document was signed by Italy's National Armaments Director, Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani, and Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries for European Integration, Davyd Aloyan, in the presence of Italy's Ambassador to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa, and Ukraine's Presidential Advisor on Strategic Issues, Oleksandr Kamyshin.

A Term Sheet was signed between JSC "Ukrainian Defence Industry" and the American company D&M Holding Company for future cooperation in producing specialised chemicals.

JSC "Ukrainian Defence Industry" and D&M agreed to establish a joint venture to manufacture special chemical substances in the United States, producing materials used in ammunition for Ukraine's Defence Forces. This will help address the current shortage of specialised chemical products critical to ammunition production.

The document was signed by JSC "Ukrainian Defence Industry" Director General Oleh Huliak and D&M CEO Daniel Powers, in the presence of Presidential Advisor Oleksandr Kamyshin, JSC "Ukrainian Defence Industry" Supervisory Board Chair Davyd Lomdzharia, and U.S. Special Envoy to Ukraine, retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg.

An agreement on cooperation was signed between JSC "Ukrainian Defence Industry" and AIAD (Italian Federation of Aerospace, Defence, and Security Industries). This agreement facilitates collaboration between Ukrainian and Italian arms manufacturers to strengthen and further develop the aviation component of Ukraine's defence-industrial complex.

The document was signed by AIAD President Giuseppe Cossiga and JSC "Ukrainian Defence Industry" Acting Deputy Director General Mykhailo Shevchenko, in the presence of Presidential Advisor Oleksandr Kamyshin, JSC "Ukrainian Defence Industry" Supervisory Board Chair Davyd Lomdzharia, and Italy's National Armaments Director, Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani.

An agreement on cooperation was signed between the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry (UCDI) and AIAD. This framework agreement initiates collaboration between the associations to deepen cooperation between enterprises in priority defence and security sectors.

The document establishes the ITA/UKR Defence Industry Working Group to identify priority areas and align standards for information exchange and confidentiality.

The parties agreed on voluntary company participation, the potential creation of thematic subgroups, and the signing of separate project agreements to ensure systematic integration of Ukrainian and Italian manufacturers in joint research, development, and production programmes for armaments and security technologies.

The document was signed by UCDI CEO Ihor Fedirko and AIAD President Giuseppe Cossiga.

An agreement was signed between a Ukrainian enterprise and the Italian company IDV (Iveco Defence Vehicles) formalising cooperation on the development and potential future production of military equipment.

"These five new agreements signed on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference significantly strengthen specific areas of our defence-industrial complex. Joint projects in specialised chemicals, armoured vehicles, aviation, intergovernmental cooperation, and association partnerships will enable Ukraine's defence industry to produce more, faster, and with greater technological advancement.

I am grateful to our partners from Italy and the United States for their readiness not only to assist Ukraine but also to build a new security architecture alongside us. Special thanks to the Italian Ministry of Defence, AIAD, and companies IDV and D&M for their willingness to engage in dialogue and support Ukraine during these challenging times.

A particular thank you goes to Ukraine's defence businesses. Your proactivity, initiative, and ability to act swiftly are the driving force behind the transformation of our defence sector. We will continue to bolster Ukraine's defence resilience through cooperation and expanding the geography of partnerships. And we will keep building the Arsenal of the Free World!" said Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
