Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with President of Angola João Lourenço on the sidelines of the UN Conference on Financing for Development.
"Ukraine highly appreciates the consistent position of Angola in condemning russian aggression. This is a manifestation of solidarity with international law and the Ukrainian people," said Denys Shmyhal.
The parties discussed the importance of joint pressure on russia.
"We expect that Angola will take a firm position to prevent the circumvention of sanctions," the Head of the Ukrainian Government stressed.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the agricultural sector. Denys Shmyhal emphasised that despite all russia's attempts to destabilise the situation, Ukraine remains a guarantor of food security.
"In continuation of the agreements with President Zelenskyy, we touched upon the creation of grain hubs," the Prime Minister said. Besides, Denys Shmyhal stressed that Ukraine stood ready for effective cooperation not only in the agricultural sector, but also in education, medicine and other sectors.
Denys Shmyhal also conveyed an invitation from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to João Lourenço to visit Ukraine.
"We believe in deepening the Ukrainian-Angolan dialogue and cooperation at the global level," the Head of Government noted.
