At the initiative of the Security Service of Ukraine, since the start of the full-scale invasion almost 15 000 sanctions have been imposed on russian individuals and legal entities, including more than 3 400 restrictive measures against russia's military-industrial complex. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Brigadier General Serhiy Naumiuk during his speech at the Fair Play Conference.

'Among the russian military-industrial complex entities subject to sanctions are manufacturers of military equipment and ammunition, missile developers, importers and companies whose products are included in the production chains of military goods,' Serhiy Naumiuk said.

According to him, over 2 200 international sanctions against russia's military-industrial complex have been synchronized, due to effective cooperation with foreign partners.

'In particular, in cooperation with other countries we blocked the supply of 250 000 servo motors that were planned to be delivered to Iran for installation on Shahed 136 UAVs. This reduced the number of drones manufactured by approximately 60 000 units. Due to the sanctions policy, russia is experiencing constant problems with logistics and rising costs of raw materials and components for producing new weapons,' the Deputy Head emphasized.

He also added that Western-made components are still being found among the wreckage of russian missiles and Shahed drones, which find their way onto the russian market through sanctions circumvention.

'These products do not reach russia directly, but through a chain of intermediaries. Nevertheless, the sanctions are undoubtedly having a significant impact on our enemy. They are suffering tangible losses and facing difficulties in producing and financing the needs of its army. Therefore, the world must continue to put pressure on russia to prevent it from continuing its military operations,' added the Deputy Head of the Service.

However, as Serhiy Naumiuk emphasized, the most effective 'restrictive measures' against russia's army and military-industrial complex are applied by the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine on the battlefield.

'Recently, during Operation Spider Web, 41 russian combat aircraft were targeted by the SSU 'sanctions'. The Crimean bridge was also hit for the third time, and Sea Baby drones are hunting russian Black Sea fleet. The SSU's deep strikes on military-industrial complex facilities in the enemy's rear, on its military arsenals and depots, are having a significant impact on the adversary's combat capabilities. We will continue this line of work,' the Deputy Head concluded.
