The signatories were Emmanuel Puisais-Jauvin, General Secretary for European Affairs of the French Government, and Oleh Nemchinov, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
"Given the successful cooperation between our Secretariats in strengthening institutional capacity, sharing experience, and providing expert assistance in the field of European integration, we reached an agreement on the need to sign this Cooperation Programme to further enhance collaboration in this direction," Oleh Nemchinov stated.
The purpose of the Programme is to establish a framework and directions for further mutual cooperation and exchange of experience and information in the field of European integration. This aims to support Ukraine during the negotiation process for EU membership, including providing knowledge and expert assistance regarding the analysis of Ukraine's national legislation compliance with EU law.
The signing of the Cooperation Programme will create additional conditions for leveraging relevant European expertise to ensure an effective negotiation process for Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
