A. Anušauskas introduced latest Lithuania's assistance package at a meeting with the new Minister of Defence of Ukraine

September 19, Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas attended the Ramstein format meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and for the first time met with the new Defence Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umierov on the margins.

Ministers discussed the nearly half a billion worth of assistance Lithuania had delivered to Ukraine and Ukraine's furthermost pressing needs to counter the Russian aggression.

At the Ramstein group meeting, A. Anušauskas underscored the importance of the formed Ukraine demining coalition, and also discussed the project in more detail in a separate meeting with Minister of Defence of Croatia Mario Banožić. Ministers addressed cooperation opportunities for the two countries.

"We are working on the formation of the demining coalition. I would like to encourage the undecided nations to join in and contribute training, equipment or finance," said Minister and noted that Lithuania would remain consistent and support Ukraine until victory.

A. Anušauskas also presented to the Allies Lithuania's latest package of military assistance to Ukraine which is set to include detonation systems, naval surveillance radars and ammunition for Carl Gustaf antitank grenade launcher. Also, Lithuania starts repair of Leopard tanks for Ukraine as of this month.

During the Ramstein meeting Lithuania signed a Declaration of Intent in support of the IT assistance coalition for Ukraine.
