In the early hours of August 20, a Ukrainian drone attacked the central railway station in Kursk, part of the city's architectural heritage and one of the most beautiful railway stations in Russia. The blast damaged the roof, the façade and the first platform. Some damage has been done to the waiting room and the subway. At the moment of the explosion, there were 50 passengers in the building; all of them were promptly evacuated. Nevertheless, five people were injured by fragments of broken glass.

We firmly condemn this new senseless terrorist attack by the criminal Kiev regime. By targeting purely civilian infrastructure and Kursk's civilians, the Ukrainian nationalist have dealt a blow, in the direct sense of the word, to our common history and the memory of heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

The present building of the central railway station was built in the place of the former station that was totally destroyed by the merciless German bombing raids on the Kursk rail hub in 1943.

This is an architectural memorial to the heroes of the Battle of Kursk, its walls painted the colour of baked blood, the blood of soldiers who saved the world from Nazism.

In pursuit of imagined independence, the descendants of Hitler's henchmen Bandera and Shukhevich, like their ideological forefathers, are actually destroying their homeland. They have turned it into a yet another futile Drang nach Osten, becoming a blind tool of the Western aggression against Moscow. Their end will be equally inglorious. All of this is making the denazification and demilitarisation of Ukraine an absolute priority of Russia's foreign policy.
